Finissage – Sunday in Pasvik Valley – Programme Overview
The Barents Spektakel 2022 Finissage will take place on Sunday 27. February in the Pasvik valley. With two artistic performances outdoor and an afternoon programme in NIBIO Svanhovd, makes this Sunday a day out for the whole family.
Programme overview:
14.00: TORCH MARCH IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE IN UKRAINE // From Svanvik Church. In collaboration with LO Sør-Varanger. We go down to Utnes together. Bring torches.
15.00: EMIL KÁRLSEN // UTNES (outdoor)
The sami artist Emil Kárlsen will play a special, intimate concert by the campfire at Utnes, Svanvik, surrounded by the wonderful nature of Pasvik!
15.30: TWO SIDES OF THE RIVER // UTNES (outdoor)
The sound artists Tine Surel Lange and Pavlo Grazhdansky presents Two Sides of the River, a project dealing with ideas of connection, listening, and bridge-building across vast distances. The two artists, stationed on each side of the Pasvik river – in Utnes (Svanvik) and in Nikel – will make use of very loud sound sources that can be heard by audiences on both sides of the border. A truly border crossing performance!
16.00 – 19.00: EXHIBITION & DINNER // NIBIO SVANHOVD
Our cooperation partner NIBIO Svanhovd will open the doors to their research centre and offer their exhibition and a special dinner menu in the restaurant.
17.30: LECTURE // NIBIO SVANHOVD
Snorre B. Hagen will give a short lecture on some of the ongoing Norwegian-Russian environmental cooperation projects taking place at Svanvik.
